Russian Lina Krasnoroutskaya, the No.9 qualifying seed, enjoyed a 6-3 6-2 victory over Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino to advance to a final qualifying clash with Anastasiya Yakimova, the No.16 qualifying seed.
Krasnoroutskaya shot up the rankings to a career-high of 25 one year ago when she lost to Frenchwoman Tatiana Golovin in the third round of the main draw at Melbourne Park.
But she has struggled to keep up with the feats of her compatriots in the past 12 months, losing in the first round at Wimbledon in her only other Grand Slam main draw appearance in 2004.
